CNR Qiqihar Railway Rolling Stock (Group) Co. Ltd (hereinafter referred to as QRRS), founded early in 1935, not only QRRS is China’s principal rolling-stock supplier, but also we are currently the leading design base. Nearly all the general-purpose wagons, speed enhancement wagons and bogies are designed by QRRS which has earned QRRS several national awards.

Ever since 1949, it has manufactured over 250000 wagons with annual production capacity reaching 7600, occupaying about one fourth of domestic market. It has also up to now manufactured 2063 railway rescue cranes with an anuual production capacity for 12 off 160t cranes. In the year 2004, its yearly turnover is 1.9 billion RMB. QRRS is proudly an accredited holder of ISO9001、ISO14001、GB/T28001、AAR-M210 and AAR-M1003.

Taking the year 1961 as a starting point, its export history has reached 45 years which can be categorized into the following three stages:

1.      Economic Aid（1961-1979）

At this stage, QRRS has undertaken many national economic aid projects hosted by Chinese government for other countries such as Vietnam, Cuba, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Albania and etc., manufacturing 90% (4244 wagons)of the wagons supplied to these countries.

2.      Testing The Water Of International Market（1980-1998）

Since the introduction of national opening up and reform policy, QRRS committed itself to wagon export business, actively participating in global competition and tendering. At this stage, QRRS has supplied 809 wagons and 4 railway rescue cranes to Botswana, Indonesia, Nigeria, Myanmar and etc.

Upon certification by AAR, its side frame and bolsters penetrated its way into USA and South Korea markets on large quantities, gradually establishing its reputation while in the meantime accumulating in-depth knowledge on global market competition and valuable technical reserve.

The year 1997 has seen QRRS develop China’s sole patented type K1 low track force four-rod linkage speed enhancement bogie which boasts 120km/h maximum speed, proudly keeping China’s railway development speed synchronized with the rest of the world. The bogie features increased warp stiffness and reduced flange wear, helping to lessen customer’s maintenance costs.

3.      Big Breakthrough（1999- ）

At this stage, QRRS began to enter Australian market with its K1 bogies, thus turning a new page for China’s rolling stock industry to export complete wagons to developed countries which is characteristic of both high speed and heavy haul. It has therefore established his name as a renowned rolling stock supplier.

In 1999，QRRS supplied to Australia three C2 23t axle-load container flat wagons which together with subsequent C3 container flat wagons have been greatly favored by the tare-weight conscious Australian rail operators.

In 2000, QRRS supplied to Australia C3 container flat wagons and C35-92 grain hopper wagons. These two types of wagons are the frontrunner of mass produced 25t axle load wagons.

In 2001, QRRS supplied to Australia C10A double stack container flat wagons (China’s first double stacker) and C37 ballast hopper wagons.

In 2002, QRRS supplied to Australia C35－100 grain hopper wagons and C32 coal hopper wagons, the latter of which are China’s first 30t axle load wagons.

In 2003, QRRS supplied to CVRD,Brazil HFT grain hopper wagons and supplied to TAZARA,TANZANIA covered wagons.

In 2004, QRRS supplied to Australia articulated container wagons which are China’s first articulated wagon and C3 container wagons.

In 2003-2004, QRRS supplied to USA BARBER type bolster and side frame by thousands.

In 2004,QRRS supplied to Taiwan K1 type Four-Rod Linkage 1067mm Gauge Bogie.
